About This World

Arrakis, called Dune by those who know it, is the most important planet in the universe and the most inhospitable. Its sand seas hide sandworms and the Fremen, a people who have adapted to the desert so completely that they are part of it. The spice Melange saturates everything: air, sand, and eyes. It is produced in a cycle tied to the sandworms. Without it, the Spacing Guild cannot navigate and the Imperium fractures. Paul Atreides came to Arrakis and became a figure beyond any prophet.
